Smoke drifts through the streets,
a town I barely recognize.
Everyone is running somewhere,
yet I still can’t find
where I belong.
The grown-ups keep repeating
a word they call “justice,”
but what it truly means…
I still don’t understand.
The color of the blue sky
is hidden behind too many things,
so I can’t see it anymore.
And in my chest, a small voice
keeps trembling, asking, “Why?”
If we have something we want to protect,
why are there people who end up hurt?
My wish is only one—
that the people I love can smile again.
Holding only a tiny prayer
quietly against my heart,
I stand beneath this clouded sky,
unable to do anything but look up.
Ruins and swirling dust—
even the cries of someone
are drowned out
by the roar I’ve grown too used to hearing.
The distant echoes
make my heartbeat race.
If something is named “justice,”
does that make it okay
to break someone’s heart?
In the cracks of a stolen everyday life,
dreams lie abandoned.
The hand I reached out to grasp them
shook and vanished into the sky.
But still, I believe—
beyond these murky clouds,
the blue is surely waiting,
breathing quietly.
So that one day
we can smile again,
I release a small wish into the sky.
And hoping my voice will reach someone,
I look up once more today.
